A short how to install firmware onto SD card on Windows 11

I just wanted to post this short how to as I am new to the uConsole, new to the CM4 and the last time I used a Linux live CD on a PC was over 30 years ago.

So here it goes:

  1. Find a usable sd card, mine is from a GoPro camera as I did not buy a new one yet. It is a 32GB card.
  2. You can go here and download the firmware you like, I am currently trying them all out.
  3. ClockworkPi - Google Drive
  4. Once downloaded extract the folder with WinRAR.
  5. Download the balenaEtcher from here: https://etcher.balena.io/
  6. After installing it, plug in your sd card, mine is plugged in via a USB hub, start the balena app, select the firmware you want, chose the sd card and click flash.
  7. After it is flashed, remove the sd card, insert into your uConsole, power it on and enjoy your first time using the uConsole.
  8. It is very easy and I just love the uConsole, as I am sure you do as well.
