If any of you have checked my repository in the last few hours, I decided to delete all of the gui designing I did, as I shifted to TUI.
I have found an issue with me designing the font map, as if you see it, there is every printable character on the PicoCalc’s keyboard in the font map, including space (the black/blank 5x5 box at the end) and for spaces between letters, it would be 1 pixel, so I would need to somehow program that in (will need help LATER on that) but the issue is for some of the letters with only 3 pixels width, there is a 2 pixel gap to the right of them, which is a major flaw, as it can make the spacing between letters uneven.
I need some help/assistance with fixing this issue, and if you were wondering, I left aligned the letters in the box, so that the can all have a 1 pixel space to the left of them when I program it in.
Sorry @Astrox , but would you kindly explain your intentions and share your experience and expertise? I joined the community just recently, but I read in the forum almost every day. I see that you write very ambitiously about a new operating system and have big plans. In between, I see a short script for a simple function, and then elsewhere I read a question that an experienced developer would not ask. How does that fit together? Are your statements merely wishful thinking, or do you have something up your sleeve that could make your goals seem realistic?
I see. That’s a honourable attitude, which – combined with a lot of hard work – can definitely lead to success.
However, I would encourage you to define your goals in a way that they are achievable, or to communicate them less aggressively in advance.
Currently, you are giving people who have no idea about operating systems and software development a wrong impression. And among those who do have the knowledge and could (!) implement your ideas, you are causing astonishment, to put it mildly.
Start your development career with a project that you can implement on your own in a reasonable amount of time. Or, if you are wealthy, hire a team to implement your ideas and visions. Otherwise, I’m afraid, the current approach could lead to frustration and disappointment.
