How about an optical trackpad like this for the uconsole? I’m not technically skilled, but I think it would be really great if something like this existed. What if we kept the uconsole as is and had an optical trackpad that fit it? If you attach it with double-sided tape, it doesn’t seem like it would fall off easily.

Because,… [replacing the keyboard (and front shell)](https://forum.clockworkpi.com/t/trackpad-on-uconsole-will-on-sale-formally-tell-you-all/20848) isn’t feasible?

I think it would be easier to attach or detach if mounted on the surface of the cave rather than inside.

They make stick-on touchpads. Here’s one: [Amazon.com: ETPA Mini USB Computer Touchpad, Trackpad, Mouse, Wired, 1.1 x 1.3 inches Ergo Touchpad ETP001MTPUSB : Electronics](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087QTBXFN) - 0.348cm x 0.2825cm ( **for $60** - yowch!), so it might fit in the center spot, but I’m doubtful. If you took out the trackball mechanism you could stick it on top.
