# Keyboard/trackball stuck (boot mode)

I have the famous issue with the keyboard stuck in boot mode (blinking led). I had read all the forum and topics about it but I haven’t found a definitive solution. When I power on the DevTerm it works, but if I reboot it, the keyboard/trackball dies while blinking.
I have:
- Updated the firmware to the modified version (0.3): [I've rewritten DevTerm keyboard & trackball firmware](https://forum.clockworkpi.com/t/ive-rewritten-devterm-keyboard-trackball-firmware/7671)
- Cleaned the contacts with the isopropyl alcohol.
But nothing works.
An hypothesis I have read explains this issue is due to an undervoltage that in some way sets the keyboard in the boot mode.
Has any of you found a way to solve the issue definitely? Maybe by adding in the firmware a simple timeout for the booting mode?

Just a shot in the dark, but try cleaning the contacts of your core/CPU board as well as ext board too, if you haven’t already.
