I’ve written a spreadsheet in MMBasic. One formula evaluates correctly in Excel and also evaluates correctly if I replace all cell references with literal numbers. However, when the formula uses cell references, one result is wrong. I’ve verified the RPN expression, increased recalculation passes, and checked the obvious dependencies, but the problem persists. If you think that you could help me find the bug in my code, I would very much appreciate your letting me know. Please contact me and I will send you the details and the code. Thank you! - Jim
Sad to say but, chuck the code at claude and you probably have the answer within seconds
Thank you, Picouser. I had never heared of Claude Code. I did send it to Claude and he solved the problem in around three hours. About 90% of that time was due to my slow typing! Claude took all three programs codes and analytically went through each program line by line. It turned out that all of the code, math, logic, syntex, etc. were corect. The whole problem was a display issue! Even though my spreadsheet cells can hold and display 9 charators, several cells that were going to zero changed the display from fix desicmal to sciencetific notation - but - the e-9 were not shown in the cells. So while the cell value was -6.98721e-9 (pretty close to 0) the display was showing -6.98721. Anyway, Claude found it in very short time! And he explain what he was doing as he work through the codes. A very nice AI exspirence! Thank you again, Picouser. I would have never found the bug by myself. - Jim
