# Pico 2 W compatible with Pico calc?

The uf2 images are mostly for the Pico 1. They will all have to be updated to work with the Pico 2 or 2 W. PicoMite has already been updated for the Pico 2, but not the 2 W. You can get the Pico 2 uf2 here;

Edit: Let me clarify slightly. The updated PicoMite uf2 for the Pico 2, will run on a Pico 2 W, it just does not support the wireless. For wireless support WebMite needs to be updated for the PicoCalc and that has not happened yet.

It will probably be worth revisiting in a few months. Clockwork devices are pretty barebones in terms of software on release, and the PicoCalc is no exception. But the community is already getting a lot more Pico compatible devices supported.
Some of the most exciting (to me, at least) are the ones not even based on Pico hardware (Luckfox Lyre, various ESP32 based stuff, MilkV Duo, etc.) The Rapsberry Pi Pico is pretty underpowered compared to those, but has the benefit of all Pi platforms of being well documented and easier to.start developing or learning coding, etc.

According to the people who know, no version of PicoMite (or WebMite) runs on the PicoCalc without patching.

I most likly buy a few different boards already bought the Lyra B with headers 256mb flash 128mb ram version.

The short answer is no. The only version of MMBasic available for the PicoCalc right now is the one that comes with it. Don’t confuse PicoMite with PicoCalc. There is PicoMite software for the 2 W but it won’t run on PicoCalc.

Actually, see the other thread with guu ([already linked](https://forum.clockworkpi.com/t/anybody-have-interesting-to-compile-firmware-for-rp2350/16237/14)) on this post - from my own testing (also discussed on the other thread), guu’s build of PicoMite for the Pico 2 works fine on the Pico 2 W and works in the PicoCalc. From the other thread - make sure you disconnect the USB Micro B cable before booting, otherwise PicoMite can’t find the I2C keyboard on the PicoCalc. Running from battery or USB C power works fine, though.

What files are you using on the sd card is there a guide how to get the pico 2 w working. I still have the sd card that came with the pico calc inside. Bit just get a blank screen on pico 2 w. Can someone point me in the direction on how to get it working.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a quick newbie guide; I had to hand patch the latest uLisp source and make some tweaks to get it working, which involves getting your hands dirty with some C++ programming. If you’re looking for the PicoMite firmware, someone posted a link to the UF2 somewhere here already.
