I’ve written a small proof of concept function and demo code. One side runs on the PicoCalc and one side runs on your Windows PC and they are connected via USB. When you move your PC mouse or type on your PC keyboard, you will see the arrow cursor on the PicoCalc move and letters appear on the PicoCalc screen. It also works in reverse… when you type on the PicoCalc keyboard, they keystrokes will get passed back to the PC. You can use the hotkey ctrl-alt-k, select a Windows program and the Picocalc is now the keyboard for that Windows program! hours of fun!
I’ve made the demo code separate from the remote function so that you can move the remote function into your own PicoCalc code. Eg: if you wanted to add a mouse to your own “Paint” program.
Note: this function doesn’t magically let you use a PC mouse & keyboard. You still have to run a program on the PC side which relays the mouse movements and keyboard changes over USB to the PicoCalc. I’ve included the Windows .EXE file as well as the UF2 files for the RP2040 and RP2350 PicoCalcs in the release folder here: Release V0.01A · Dzubin/picocalc-remote-kbd · GitHub
Enjoy!
