Hi everyone,

I’m quite new to this, and I’ve been working on designing an **expansion board for the uConsole (uEXC)**. My goal was to add more **GPIOs, a camera connection, and several I2C pins** , which is exactly what I needed for my projects.

Since I don’t own a uConsole yet, it’s impossible for me to test the board myself. That’s why I’m reaching out to the community to ask for help with **reviewing the PCB design and the schematic**. Any expert eyes or suggestions would be hugely appreciated before I send it off for manufacturing.

I based this design on the excellent work of other community members, particularly these resources:

- **KiCad uConsole Expansion Card Template:** [GitHub - PotatoMania/uconsole-expansion-card-template-kicad: KiCAD template for custom uConsole expansion card](https://github.com/PotatoMania/uconsole-expansion-card-template-kicad)
- **UPico Expansion Card (ClockworkPi Forum):** [uPico Expansion Card](https://forum.clockworkpi.com/t/upico-expansion-card/11320)
- **uEXB - Basic Expansion Board for uConsole (ClockworkPi Forum):** [uEXB - Basic Expansion Board for uConsole](https://forum.clockworkpi.com/t/uexb-basic-expansion-board-for-uconsole/18071)

You can find my project on GitHub here: [GitHub - AleReb/uEXC: expansion port for uConsole](https://github.com/AleReb/uEXC/tree/main)

Thanks a lot for your time and help!

PD: i dont have a uConsole yet but if anyone can test it very welcome

The CSI-2 signals track should be differential and impedance-controlled.

the camera fpc need to go through a hole to the outside. what’s your plan about this? basically two options: 1. through the antenna hole, mount camera on top; 2. through the expansion card side plate, mount on side. 1) will be easier to mount imo, because you can leverage the back plate screws like the SDR quickmount project. 2) is also viable, because you can design a custom side plate which has mounting facilities.

the plan also depends on the placement of camera fpc connector – currently it’s at the bottom of the card, and it looks like it’s pointing downwards. for 1) I recommend place at the bottom, facing upward, or place at middle, facing left; for 2) I recommend place at top, facing downward, or place at middle, facing right.

Hello everyone!

I recently received my PCBs from JLCPCB, but I still haven’t received my uConsole yet. If anyone is interested, I’m happy to send the PCBs — you would only need to cover the shipping costs and supply the components yourself.

Please note that I don’t have the camera connector at the moment, but I’m planning to purchase that component soon.

Cheers!

Me too. I think I’ll wait for at least 6 months. Nevertheless, I don’t need it for Wi-Fi hacking, LoRa, or other connectivity tasks. I’m more interested in Arduino, ESP32, and STM32 projects when I talk about the uConsole, so your uEXC board is a perfect solution for me. How can I order it with delivery to the US? Thanks.
