Hi All

Could anybody get Sega Master System to work?
I can’t find any RetroArch cores for the GS ([https://buildbot.libretro.com/](https://buildbot.libretro.com/)) , but see there is one for RetroArch itself - ([https://docs.libretro.com/library/emux\_sms/](https://docs.libretro.com/library/emux_sms/))

I’ve not tried it, BUT assume it won’t work?

Any thoughts?

There possibly isn’t one specifically for sega master system, since PicoDrive runs them. The Picodrive core is actually one that does a lot of Sega consoles!

It’s a bit messy, but you can actually just put your master system roms in the same directory as your megadrive/genesis/gamegear/sega cd/32x/pico etc roms.

There’s also a standalone PicoDrive app you can install for the gameshell.

Early on, there were some speed issues with Sega emulation, but I’m fairly sure most of them are now sorted out.

Ah! I have PicoDrive, I’ll add the file extension to config file 😃

Much appreciated @javelinface #staysafe

Yeah! Picodrive should come on the stock 0.5 image.
Ooh good idea re: adding more extensions! I shall do the same with my custom images and configs!

AWESOME!

Added the extension, and it’s working brilliantly 😃
Can’t wait for the next Custom Image 🎆

Hold off for about an hour! I accidentally overwrote the action.config file of PicoDrive with PCSX while doing some editing! It will be worth the wait!

Is there any other emulator except the RetroArch that can support [Master System ROMs](https://www.romspedia.com/roms/sega-master-system) on PC? I don’t want to waste my time finding codes or cores for RetroArch just want some simple emulator to install load the game and start playing.

Woah you might wanna remove that link. We all know what Roms are, and where to get them if we need them. Just … probably better to you know, not have them up here as a link.

Also, for PC? You do mean… Gameshell, or Devterm right? There are certainly plenty that aren’t Retroarch, however if you have trouble using Retroarch, there’s a very high possibility you might have trouble with a standalone.

You might be able to get support here, but keep in mind that this is a clockwork Pi forum. There are no doubt dedicated forums for PC emulation. I could just imagine things getting very cluttered and disjointed if people started doing things like asking for PC emulator support in a clockwork thread.

Check here for a list:

I can’t really help any more than this, since a) I don’t actually ever play master system, b) don’t use a PC for emulation and c) have never used any of the aforementioned emulators.

Good luck!
