Statement Regarding AIO v2 Internal USB-C Power Supply Issue and Compensation Plan

What the…! Who told you about that? I’m calling spanish inquisition right away!

What kind of wizard are you. I love all of that! Very nice! Want that as well!

One of the guys that created one of the terminal emulators the picocalc uses.. (bit convoluted ya) originally it was stripped of its intro message giving credit to the creator.. and the creator chimed in on their website forum… saying something to the affect the designer is a very intelligent person, not interested in long term support of products. Which tracks well with what I have seen. Just glad we have such a good community

@vileer is this a good thread for AIOv2/3 suggestions ?

I’d like to suggest a DS3231S rtc instead of the PCF85063A for 10x accuracy, automatic temperature compensation and similar low power/wide power range ?. Would be an upgrade for those off-grid for a while…

There are two reasons why I don’t go for the DS3231s, the footprint size and the price.

I’m in the UK, too. If anyone in the UK needs their board doing, I’ll do it for free, just cover the postage. I’m a retired electronics engineer, though I still build stuff, many music synthesisers and eurorack modules. I have proper SMT tools, and have build a few things with 0402, though most of my SMT build work has been with 0603. DM me if I can help.

Just recieved a V2 board (with flex cable and side plate only) via AliExpress. Measured the resistor in circuit and it shows 3.8K. I’d have thought they’d be holding old V2 stock @vileer ??

Hi @vileer !

I received my package a few days ago and finally managed to assemble everything (the clock battery was missing, I forgot to buy one). After testing, sdr / gps / lora are working. I’m still a little confused about the ac1200 module.
My order number is 6897. Am I affected by the resistor defect? If so, I should be able to repair it myself (and thank you for the compensation offer, but I won’t be claiming anything).

#6897 was not affected.

The resistor looks like be fixed.

Thanks for the reply!
I’m waiting for some equipment to open my uconsole. I’ll take a closer look and test the resistance, but I managed to detect the equipment and sniff my network, so I guess it’s fine :-D!!

I have a few 5.1k parallel resistors sitting around. However, this gives around 2.01333 amps. Will it work or just burn my board? Thanks

Resistors usually have a variance of 5%. If, as @vileer said, the chip can do the most 2A, you should go under it…..

NEVER a good idea to push anything to the limit. Mine reading 3.8K in circuit…

Just waiting on the repair of my AIOv2 , switched back to my v1 while I wait and ordered the wifi and upgraded antenna board for when it comes back. Great customer service so far.

I’m not great with reading resistors. Mind pointing me to the right one to get? Definitely don’t have the tools for the tiny smd one, but can probably do a through the hole type one, and tack it.

ask any mobile repair shop to do it, it will take them like 5 minutes.

i think my image has the color bands of the resistor as well as the value i used. you can get it from Aliexpress easily, or any DIY store in your country.

Well I might have overestimated my SMD soldering skills, but I eventually managed it with only 1 resistor pinging off into another dimension.
