Trixie 6.12.y for the uConsole and DevTerm

I have encountered the same issue.

Just got my UConsole today! Trixie 6.12.85 booted up great but also having the same dependency issues when running aiov2_ctl –add-apps. Let me know if there is anyway I can help. Thanks!

I’m aware of the issue, I’m not at home today but I’ll look into fixing it tomorrow. Something must have changed in the last few weeks. It installed fine even on a custom image I made somebody two weeks ago.

If it helps, I did a reinstall of SDRPPBROWN on Wednesday and it worked.

@Rex Please, will the new kernel include a fix/workaround for Dirty Frag vulnerability? Thanks

I’ve just got my uConsole

Have it running 6.12.85-v8+ from the image in the links at the top of this thread.

All seems fine but trying to install -pi-apps using the wget script i get a “your system is 32 bit error…”

Which seems odd as I was under the impression that I was running 64 bit on a CM4.

I didn’t download the lite version.

that’s not right it is 64bit, the kernel up is.

Was there a resolution to the dependency issues? Thank you for all you do for this community, I wouldn’t have a working uConsole without you Rex.

If I have CM4 is there any reason to use this instead of official one from GitHub - clockworkpi/uConsole: This code repository offers downloads for the latest images of various uConsole models, along with kernel patches, firmware for the keyboard and 4G expansion module, hardware schematics, assembly instructions, and essential technical documents. ¡ GitHub uConsole_CM4_v3.1_64bit.img.bz2?

I thought as much. Suppose I should flag it on their support.

welp, @guu updated official image not so far ago so it’s not so outdated as before,

but I would say that Rex’s images are “better” linux + you can choose distro with Rex’s images as he has a lot of flavors.

if you do not care about it – official one should work just fine (I suppose it also has updated screen drivers)

This one is actively maintained, the official one isn’t and for over a year would break when updating. Currently it might work but no long term guarantees

I got similar experience for both full and lite version with CM5. The flatpak seems consider those as 32 bit kernel. This can be confirmed by the command getconf LONG_BIT.

new trixie images uploaded should fix the problems some were having with the one that shipped with kernel 6.12.85

Amazing! thank you so much Rex! I am new to the UConsole so is this new version of Trixie updatable or requires a full fresh install? Thanks!!

If you flashed the image the had kernel 6.12.85 as the shipping kernel then you’ll need to reflash. Sorry about that.
