# Updated kernel from Rex is great

I just booted my uConsole using the updated kernel posted in these forums and have to say it is nicer than the stock one.  
It has clockwork logo screens and a cool desktop background with a pseudo exploded parts of the console and the desktop is setup nicely.  
It does not have all the software that the stock one does under games so you can add what you want there.

I haven’t dug into it deeply but I like it a lot!  
I will be putting a few OS versions on sdcards to play around a bit, it’s really convenient for having different versions of the OS.

I will second this, thanks for doing this work. Making it possible to compile kernel drivers for other WiFi cards is great!

I’ve also been using the bookworm image the past few days. Getting up and running was very easy. I appreciated the stock install with clockwork touches. pretty much everything I’ve tried so far has worked. Thanks @Rex!
