i own a picocalc and im somewhere in a que for a uconsole
id like to think i could eventually end up with a basic handheld device that will enable me to ssh into real compute located all throughout my home/lair or home office if you like, im fully aware that raspberry pi handhelds exist but thats the problem tho i dont want it to be a computer, i want it to be a dumb terminal but with modern amenities like secure shell and wifi and this exact formfactor of this picocalc with this exact keyboard, its honestly kinda perfect, i suspect the uconsole will be less somehow even tho its more?? ya…

i have also acquired many pimeroni devices based on the rp2040 in hopes of eventually building a wifi enabled dumb terminal to accomplish the same tasks, but with a more desktop like access terminal, becerz… idk, nostalgia for the old green phosphor terminals i remember from elementary school library, ohh the old dewey decimal system… how iv aged to miss you much… lol… ok… ya im a bit off my rocker… that a problem:/… haha
but again i have no idea what im doing
…here ill set the mood for just how lost i am…
iv googled many basic and mmbasic example programs in the last few hours since i finished the assembly of the picocalc(25th of april, 2025) and installed a pico2w
got to the point were i can overflow from a Fibonacci sequence
and now im currently looking into turning uf2 files back into .bin files to use with the picocalc sd firmware loader that i have installed now…
ya banging around in the dark here, but that half the fun, right?
