I’ve been toying with the idea of creating my own seven-segment font for a large-digit RCA 1802 Microprocessor simulation program for the PicoCalc… but now I don’t have to! Thanks!

SevenSegmentFull @ 32x50 pixels is just what I need!

How do you use them with PicoCalc?

Sorry, I originally replied with a C program but then looked at your profile and see you might be a MMBASIC kinda-guy… probably the best way to do this is to upload the .C file into an AI program like Claude and ask it to convert the file into MMBASIC.

The file format is:
4‑byte header (0x20, 0x32, 0x20, 0x5F):

Byte Value Meaning
0 0x20 = 32 glyph width in pixels
1 0x32 = 50 glyph height in pixels
2 0x20 = 32 ASCII code of first character (space)
3 0x5F = 95 number of characters

Glyph data, following the header:

  • Each glyph is (32/8) Ă— 50 = 200 bytes, and 95 Ă— 200 + 4 = 19004, which matches the array size.
  • It is row‑major: 4 bytes per row, 50 rows.
  • Within each byte, the most significant bit is the leftmost pixel. A set bit means “foreground”.
  • Glyph for character c starts at 4 + (c - 32) * 200.

There are programs included in MMbasic for doing this. They are included in the full download from https://geoffg.net/Downloads/picomite/PicoMite_Firmware.zip

hi,you should realise the c program beacuse i think its not a mmbasic thing but a picocalc thing

You’re the one who released the fonts, you should release a C program to use them
