You’re right. It’s best to keep posts on topic and serious rather than satirical, but after months of reading the other thread I just couldn’t help myself.
Anyway, we’ve had our fun and its probably best to let this thread die. I put a disclaimer at the top to let people know the thread isn’t serious before they waste time reading through it.
Since the early 1980’s, I’ve encountered countless “enthusiast newcomers” with a little skills, some really big plans, and an unfortunately tendancy towards even larger arrogance.
I’m 100% for supporting and encouraging people efforts to learn, but there is a very definite line between helping growth and enabling a narcissistic ego.
I applaud the community for it patience with the whole meandering “My OS” missadventure… I don’t think the kid is getting a fraction of the hazing, grief, or condescension he would gotten if he tried this stuff a some other forums dedicated to this stuff… but at some point enough is enough, and you either have to call them out, or ignore them, and hope they get a clue and adjust the attitude. I don’t think it’s doing them any favors by playing along for 7+ months.
All jokes aside, that would be sick! Put me on the 2 year waiting list!
