UConsole Scroll Wheel Or Silent Arrow Keyboard Mod

I’m looking to add a scroll wheel or silent arrow keys to my UConsole.

I’m using it more and more in the weeks since it arrived but find the clicking of the keys are disturbing my wife if I’m using it whilst she’s trying to sleep. Particularly if I’m reading on Kavita or in a browser.

Does anybody know of a USB scroll wheel or a similar approach that would allow quiet navigation of a page up and down?

Thanks,
James

The updated uConsole keyboard firmware, Fn+Trackball to scroll up/down scroll.

Or you could change over to the QMK firmware, Select+Trackball up/down/left/right scroll.
This is the one i personally use.
I use this version of the firmware clockworkpi_uconsole_default.20240922.bin

If you choose one of these options make sure to read the documentation.

Thank you, I knew the custom firmware existed but hadn’t considered that functionality had been added.

Really appreciate the work and effort you’ve put in to improving the uConsole.

That works brilliantly. Thanks for the advice.

So you include this in your images? Or is this something extra you have to do separataly?

This is something separate, the keyboard has a microcontroller running it and you’re flashing the microcontroller’s firmware. Once done it will be installed no matter what OS or CM you use.
