Uconsole working perfectly… yet. When entering Terminal and typing the first word, all is well. Then I press space, 50% of the time the keyboard runs away typing spaces of its own !! (photo coming). Pressing any key stops it. I delete the spaces back to my word, hit space again and its ignored !, so I hit it again and all is fine from then on till I run Terminal again… Keyboard bios iffy ??
people say that QMK firmware fixes it.

i can confirm that, since i installed qmk this is not a problem anymore.

Guess the backlight is still poor ?
Depends on waht you consider as “poor”. But i think i did not noticed any improvement on the keyboard backlight.
But the trackball, when upgaded to a better one, works 1000 times better with QMK.
The old QMK has LED driver bug that actually flickring due to the frequency calculation wasn’t aligning with the uConsole keyboard hardware. The new one fixes all those & voltage brownout limitations, as far as I am aware it is all complete and fully working with more add-on features. e.g. if you fancy tap-hold without touching the shift key for fast typing.
