First Look : GameShell

Thanks for the clarification

Does that mean we should expect the battery to explode?

I can only assume the glasses are there because they are marketing the Game Shell as a hackable development board that is packaged as a gaming console. For the hackable part, you sometimes do things that would suggest wearing safety glasses and they are providing them to support safe DIYing.

Or maybe this is just a new fashion trend they are pushing, and we’re all getting in on the ground floor :sunglasses:

I asked the owner of this GS, he said nothing mentioned about glasses on booklet.

Hello, Does anyone know how to reset GameShell? I have setup my GameShell and it works well, but after I change the RetroArch’s settings, all the games can not be opened, except FreeDOOM.

So how are the hands on experiences ? Does the battery last ? Are the screen and performance ok and what have you guys and girls tried running on it ?

Just tried Cave Story, one of my favourite games. Game performance is smooth and clear-display, but quite difficult to read the tiny texts. I also attamped connect iPhone to GS with Airplay. It’s a big surprise to me, showing some more possible of GS could do in the future. BTW, the temperature of main board increase high when playing game.

Is there is an heatsink on the SoC on the board?

From the pictures I believe there isn´t.

@satoi8080 Has the clockwork already. He could answer that.

Anyway you can buy heatsinks for it.

Is there enough room in the case to accommodate a heatsink?
