I am looking to source a replacement screen for my uConsole. Unfortunately, my current unit needs a screen swap, and I want to make sure I get the correct part or a compatible alternative that fits the housing without major modifications.
Could the community please advise on the following:
1. Official Source: Is there a way to purchase the original screen directly from ClockworkPi or a specific distributor?
2. Compatible Alternatives: Are there any known third-party panels (e.g., from AliExpress or other electronics suppliers) that are “drop-in” replacements or require minimal driver tweaks?
3. Technical Specs: If searching for a generic panel, what are the exact specifications (interface, pin count, dimensions) I should be looking for?
Any links or guidance from those who have successfully replaced their screens would be greatly appreciated!
I think this is produced only for ClockWorkPi. So ask Alex if you may purchase one. He is really nice though, so chances are you’ll get one without any issue, unless there is no spare ones.
As for the specific model of the screen, I am not an expert, and I haven’t found any info other than this post:
but based on this post, and based on the model number on the back of the screen, the specs, and etc., the screen is similar to this, except the cable is different (I wonder if that is the only difference, and if so, since your cable is not damaged, you may Frankenstein this screen to make it work):
I believe they meant that the uConsole’s variation of the hyperlinked screen was manufactured specifically for ClockworkPi, using the same tate panel and just relocating the ribbon.
