Hello all, when reading various articles about the raspi 5 (or 4) the authors often argue that the default raspberry pi os is a bit resource hungry and suggest alternative, lightweight os options which while still general purpose, require less resources and so are more responsive. Has anyone tried such os on the uconsole with cm5? Can you please share your experience? Thank you!
Try bookwork lite it is lite weight.
Thank you. Is there a version for the uconsole with cm5?
Hi yes should be in the link look for bookwork lite

In fact. Thank you. Will look into Arch
The Raspberry Pi OS is tailored for the Raspberry Pi - nothing too ressource hungry there. That would be just odd wouldn’t it? In fact, when compared to other Linux distributions that are meant for “real” desktop computers, Raspberry Pi OS is rather lightweight.
But that should not hold you back from trying other distributions because why not? That’s just the joy of Linux
