PicoMite PLAY SOUND command

Anybody used PLAY SOUND cmd on Picocalc basic?

Can help how to use it?

One way is to play a WAV file from the SD card

play wav “siren.wav”

Another way is to play a tone

play tone 500,500,50

Now, the big thing to remember is these play in the “background” and that you need to wait before doing another tone. So, these snippets are from a “safe cracking” game that I wrote up. In this case, there was plenty of time after the tone played before doing anything.

But if you wanted to play a tone, then another tone, etc. You would need to do something else. ex:

sub Beep
play tone 700, 700
pause 500
play stop
pause 100
end sub

sub Boop
play tone 400,400
pause 300
play stop
pause 100
end sub

I’m assuming that you can read the details about playing sounds in the manual.

But I asked the followings:

PLAY LOAD SOUND array%()

PLAY SOUND soundno, channelno, type [,frequency] [,volume]

How are these working?

Ahhh… Now I see what you are asking.

I haven’t used these yet. Mostly because I’m probably the least artsy type of programmer out there. Can’t draw worth beans nor compose music.

So I don’t have an answer.
