Hi fellow PicoCalc enthusiasts,
I’m a huge fan of the original Prince of Persia. I’ve loved the game ever since I first saw and played it as a kid in the early 90s on my father’s 286 PC.
Because of this, I decided to try porting the fantastic SDLPoP version of Prince of Persia to the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 on the PicoCalc.
I managed to get it running—admittedly with massive help from ChatGPT! I have published the project on GitHub:
GitHub - kwi-software/picocalc_sdlpop: A port of Prince of Persia 1 (SDLPoP) for the PicoCalc with Raspberry Pi Pico 2(W) · GitHub
Since I am not sure about the copyright status of redistributing the original game assets, they are not included in the repository. For the same reason, I cannot provide pre-compiled .uf2 binaries. However, the original game files are very easy to find online, and I hope the step-by-step instructions in the README are clear and helpful.
Here are a few screenshots:
Have fun playing.
