So in short, Rex Retropie distro , and install lr-ppsspp , and copy our roms. You don’t do anything else?
lr-ppsspp will already be installed out of the box just drop your roms in the psp folder in the roms directory.
Yeah. If you have the CM4 core, it’s the way to go. Everything’s more or less set up for you.
And some of the cores may require BIOS files in addition to ROMs but that’s true no matter how you install retroarch.
thx bro. I’m trying to install Rex Retropie on Devterm now. It seems to be the same img and we just have to choose at the first boot
Correct, same image just change the device in the config.txt to the devterm from the uconsole. Then on first boot set the device to devterm.
I forgot mine is a A-06 , not a cm4. I’m good for installing manually everything
This all looks so promising and like the successful result of a ton of work by you guys and I am a newbie and totally lost. I’m trying to install the Rex’s RetroPie setup on the stock card that came with the uConsole. Is there a step-by-step set of instructions anywhere?
So far I’ve downloaded and expanded the ClockworkPi-CM4-RetroPie-6.6.35img.xz image from Rex’s google drive. I flashed it to a USB device using Etcher. And that’s where I get lost.
Thanks in advance for any help the folks on this thread can provide to a linux and terminal newcomer!
after you flash the image just boot it in your uConsole or DevTerm and create a user then follow the instructions at the prompt then you can reboot and add your roms how you see fit. I just remove the card and load the roms into the rom directory in your home folder on the sd card.
Thank you! I even see that you said that above - I was just being obtuse, I guess. Thanks again.
@Rex Thank you for your work on RetroPie for uConsole and DevTerm CM4.
My machine is a uConsole CM4 Lite core with WiFi and the without 4G cellular option, and I am an absolute novice in linux in general, so don’t mind me if I ask about obvious things.
I have downloaded and flashed the image “uConsole_CM4_v1.3g_64bit.img.7z” on a micro SD card using Etcher. I got as far as the rebooting the maching after the screen:
After rebooting, the same screen reappears - is this something that is expected? If not what are the actions required?
(I went to /boot/fireware/ to check the config.txt and the DevTerm was commented out by default.)
Many thanks again
DEVICE_NAME
is wanting what device you have so sudo retropie-device uconsole
will set things up for the uConsole.
I guess I need to add a fail check to the script.
Thank you Rex for your very clear explanations - the retropie OS started successfully for me.
is the PS2 could be supported?
You can install a ps2 emulator but the CM4 can’t really handle emulating the ps2. Some 2d games might work well but in general I think it’s unplayable.
About the psx, do you know how to enter the setring to boost the resolution?
I found on forums hotkeys+X but don t know if they mean shift, control erc , I test a lot. Thanks
Ans sorry if you already told it, but the sound button doesnt seem to work. is there a trick? Thx🙏
maybe there is a doc with all these Infos I miss.
I’m not a gamer and haven’t used RetroPie much, so I can’t help on on the up-scaling. The audio works out of the box, the vol keys work too. have you tried to see if the volume was down? or did you change any settings?
As far as I remember I don’t change anything. If I don’t found I will burn another image. (I’ll ask to the other) Thx again
EDIT : it’s F1
Did someone managed to enter into PSX settings ? it’s meaned to be HOTKEY+X (and hotkey map to select) but it doesn’t work on mine. And the sound doesn’t worked too. If you experiemented the same issue. thx
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if or how you guys are checking battery life with this image. Is there a quick command I can throw into bash to see?
Assuming upower
is installed in your RetroPie, use the command:
upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_axp20x_battery | grep percentage
