Rtc clock, pico 2 and the latest uf2 6.oo files

will be installing the RTC tomorrow on a Pico 2. Which brings up the flashing question.

The latest .uf2 file labelled picomite rp2350a V6.00.02RC9.uf2 has been found using the Github link (am a member). But these are URL links and dragged and dropped into folder on my laptop refer to a link as opposed to an actual file.

I have flashed numerous other systems but what am I missing.

I have reviewed the flashing requirements using the USB micro and the bootsel button on the pico, connecting to the laptop with button pushed, then drag the uf2 file into the recognized pico drive.

But what am I copying, the link or the file?

Cheers, Geoff

There are no stupid questions I hope.

to flash a RPi Pico device you must copy a UF2 file into the boot drive that mounts when plugging a Pico in flash mode into your computer

i’m not wholly sure how you would even copy an internet link to a drive, short of making an internet shortcut file, which is not what you should do

Thanks, it is why I asked the question. I was able to copy the actual uf2 file for the pico 2. But i also want to update the pico the calc came with up to version 6.00.xx

Problem is, when I drag that over to my laptop all i get is the url link which, as you state, is not what I want.

No panic as the pico 2 will upgrade and the RTC is going onto the main board tomorrow,

I thought it would be an easy drag and drop of the actual uf2 flie.

solved. have both files saved to the lap top now. one for the pico 2 and one for the pico that came with the calc. both are version 6.00.xx…

geoff

Not sure why you’d want RC9 as it’s many months old and there have been plenty of bugfixes since then.

The newest releases are here:

To answer the question, firstly, thanks for the latest updates. Second., brand new here and there are a lot of postings manuals and suggestions to go through.

The RC nine was the latest I could find at GitHub, but now you’ve directed me to an even greater updated and easier to access set of files.

Will upgrade my pico and pico 2 tomorrow with the files that you have linked me to.

Really appreciate that thank you very much
