Hey all, hope you are well, I’m running a uconsole with cm5 and Rex’s image and I have installed SNES9x and when trying to configure the keys, up, down, left and right seem ok, but I cant get it to recognise A, B , X and Y to set them, has anyone else had this please ?
those keys are joystick keys in the default keyboard firmware
Yes , so I’m going to the part to set my keys , and it recognises I’m pressing up down left right (arrow keys) and it automatically fills them , but when I’m then going to the section on the right for the A B X and Y I’m pressing them and it’s not recognising that I’m pressing them and filling the windows in to set them
Do I need to load a different keyboard in the OS?
I have tried fn+g , that didn’t work
Im currently trying to use input remapper to remap the ABXY buttons
it won’t work on the stock keyboard firmware, you need to flash the QMK one first: QMK firmware for uConsole keyboard
it happens because your SNES9x can’t handle mixed control scheme of “arrows from keyboard” and “buttons from gamepad”
You can try to run SNES9x via retroarch, it should handle that weird controls scheme.
Okay, thank you, I’ll try that tomorrow, I did try retroarch, but couldn’t get it to use the snes9x core unfortunately
You need to enable cores downloader first: Installing Cores - Libretro Docs
