New image Trixie-6.12.48 available!
This helped, thank you. I fixed the screen rotation through the Display section of Control Centre and it survives reboots, so that’s good. I se some screen tearing when scrolling screen content, and also my brightness keys no longer work. I guess I could fix that by manually binding the brightness Fn keys to a command that controls brightness, but I think I’ll just end up reinstalling the image when I have time. As always, thank you Rex!
Are you using a different DE then Labwc?
That was it! The package updates must have changed the configuration, fastfetch was showing LXDE in the DE section.
I switched to Labwc using raspi-config and now there’s no more screen tearing, and the brightness keys work. You’re a wizard, thank you!
testing in progress, for the moment everything is working perfectly! I’m trying Flatpak installs, “darkmode” doesn’t work, but that’s it.
sorry if I missed it out, but after running apt upgrade, all the entries in the Preferences menu are gone. Also the shortcut for desktop preferences via the right click menu on the desktop does nothing.
Any hint would be appreciated!
Edit: thank you @Kirou for the hint!
Also removed the large screenshot

Trixie isn’t official out for the raspberry pi yet, so I guess they’re still making changes.
We’re all just little guinea pigs…
may be reasonable to wait until Trixie becomes stable!
Trixie’s already out the stables, she’s running fast and free!
This works! Thank you so much, rex
we can finally quit horsing around
I say Neigh to that!
Hey @Rex , do you plan to build a Trixie for the uConsole from the official version? Not sure if it works like that. Just wonder if I should wait a bit for newly adapted one or the one in the post as good as it gets?
Thanks for you restless contribution btw!
I use the same build scripts as raspberry pi. I just add a couple programs, a custom kernel and some clockwork theming and rotation settings for the panel we use.
The build scripts is called pi-gen and if you would like to build your own image with further customizations you can find it in my GitHub linked above.
I put Trixie on the CM5. All good except when I reboot the console it actually doesn’t boot anymore. It shuts down and I can’t start it again with the power button. I need to take out and put back the batteries to be able to turn it on again.
I tried to hold the power button for at least 10 seconds with no luck. Any suggestions?
Is it a CM5 lite? If so did you do the eeprom edit?
Holding the power button will do nothing with the CM5 as the power reset pin changed between the 4 and 5 so hard reboots don’t work.
yes, it is a CM5 lite. And no, I didn’t do the eeprom. I saw the post about it though, but maybe I misunderstood that the eeprom edit needed only on old CM5s and if it works (and my did) then I don’t need to edit it.
Anyway, thanks for the pointer. I’ll try it now
Edit it then try rebooting and report back.
