uConsole Bluetooth Audio

I used a uConsole with a cm5 (8GB RAM, build in WiFi / Bluetooth), Rex image and this antenna: Nelawya WiFi Antenna RP-SMA Connector Dual Band 2.4GHz 5.8GHz MIMO Mini Antenna for WiFi Router PC Desktop USB Adapter PCI-E Cards Security IP Camera Drone and PS4 Build Wireless Range Extender: Amazon.de: Computer & Accessories .

My WiFi has a good speed - I connected the antenna directly to the CM5. Bluetooth has a good range, but every few seconds the music stops for a split of a second. I tried different codexes (SBC and SBC-XQ).

I set cpufreq-set -g performance

I tried everything (running on batteries/running on charger, different speaker/headphones, and turning off WiFi). Nothing works fine - are there any recommendations for getting good, stutter-free Bluetooth audio?

Btw. Listening from the 3.5 mm headphone jack has no stuttering.

I managed to sort out my Bluetooth issues by turning off the power-saving option:

Thanks for your suggestion, but this changes nothing for me. Still stuttering audio (I dont have a total connection lost)

Are you using both wifi bands? I had a similar situation and resolved it by forcing the wifi to connect only on 5ghz.

Edit: I just went back and saw that it happens without Wi-Fi enabled. I also switched Bluetooth manager to blueman or similarly named package (blumanz?) I’m away from my uconsole rn so I can’t give the proper name

I set up Bluetooth on my uConsole a good while ago so I don’t remember how I did it. In case this helps:

$ pacman -Ss bluetooth | grep installed
extra/bluetui 0.8.1-2 [installed]
extra/bluez 5.86-6 [installed: 5.86-4]
extra/bluez-libs 5.86-6 [installed: 5.86-4]
extra/bluez-utils 5.86-6 [installed: 5.86-4]
extra/hidapi 0.15.0-1 [installed]
extra/libldac 2.0.2.3-3 [installed]
extra/sbc 2.2-1 [installed]

For a while I had a lot of stuttering on my audio which is why I switched to a 3.5mm Bluetooth transmitter dongle, but since I switched back it hasn’t been so bad, maybe because a neighbor moved and so there’s less noise on the 2.4GHz band. If the noise comes back I’ll switch to wired earbuds.
