uHub Expansion Card

I have 9 extra boards from my pcbways order. I modified the design to replace the internal expandion connector with another usb-c connection. For those that have showen interest here is a link to my tindie store.

It’s not obvious from the thread where the board attaches - is it an internal fit, exposing the sockets without alteruing the casing, or is some DIY metal cutting involved? I have to rely on my brother to fit things/build things, as I am partially disabled, and he will need to know what modifications and connections to make. As I am currently using a hub and running a digital audio workstation, controlling synths and audio/MIDI via a USB hub, this would be a useful upgrade. It’s also my notebook for when i am working as an author. Also, can it coexist with an audio input board, in terms of space taken up?

on uconsole there is a separate (of main body) plate in front of expansion board.

I don’t know if any seller provides it, but it possible to 3d print it without any manual labor involved (as it printed on screenshots above).

Many thanks for the prompt reply. It sounds like something that would be very useful, and any plate changes achievable - my father trained in mechanical engineering, and makes tools and cases.

Again, many thanks for the information.

No cutting is needed. These boards plug into the unused 4g expansion slot on the std model. This one comes with a 3d printed cover. ((I am the seller)) and it will be back in stock in about 2 weeks.

Thanks for that. I have added my name to the wait list, and look forward to ordering soon. I bought the uConsole to use as a notepad for writing - I am a published author - but I can also use it, with the expansion, to control synths via a DAW, to create the music for my audiobooks (work in progress). It is good to see that units such as this are allowing smaller traders, rather than multinationals, to make and sell products that create a useful range of add-ons. I will have to look, see what else you sell!

If i can get few people interested i can make a few of them. not a problem, but I need to have at least ten people that wanted also

I don’t mind waiting - this is not a deadline situation. So, it takes as long as it takes, and I am sure you will let ,e/us know when you are ready to send them out. So I will await the availability message, make the payment, and get it when it arrives, no problem.

FWIW, my background is growing up with amateur radio and hi-fi, and on a good day i can still build a receiver or multi-channel frequency control. One product I do miss, that seems to no longer be made, is the timer start-up hifi unit that can be set to play or record on command. Probably all the streaming means they are not needed by most people. But i cannot record the transmitted radio show I am being interviewed on, which is what i used to use mine for!

Oh nice if we can create waiting list with small deposit to get things rolling

Makes sense. Let me know when and how. As long as any instructions make it easy to fit, people will look and ay, ā€œYes, connects there, easy to do, i need one!ā€ Paypal or etc?

Let me start pre order ill updated you with link

Order link is here

Going to that link, the cost of shipping pushes the total to Ā£75 (UK cost - more than double). I may ask my brother, who lives in San Jose CA permanently, to order one from the US end, and bring it here when he/my nephew visits. I can understand why the carriage cost is higher than I would like, but it pushes this item beyond my budget right now. My brother is visiting the UK in a few weeks, staying with my parents, nearby, so I can show him, and ask him to sort it out by in-US order and ā€˜people post’ - he or my nephew fly here several times a year.

Have you try to check on website it automatically calculate the shipping cost and tax

That was where I got the shipping cost from - more than the card itself! I suppose it’s my own fault for living in England…
