Bookworm 6.6.y for the uConsole and DevTerm

Update the Debian way:

As root in a terminal type:

apt update followed by apt full-upgrade

No need for reflashing.

How to fix the screen rotation myself ?

Is there anything else to fix ?

thanks

if upgrading youā€™ll need to remove arandr and install raindrop to be able to access display settings.

Just got my CM4 uConsole and installed this OS version. Just wanted to say thank you very much to everyone and especially @Rex for doing this build - helps out a lot.

Thanks again!

Hi, bit of a strange issue with my 4G module on this FW.

When I enable the 4G module ( 9011) ,it boots up and I get a brief network connection and icon on the tray to indicate this. Then it disappears and Modem Manager canā€™t see the 4G device anymore.

However, Iā€™m unable to connect to the internet via WiFi while this issue persists. Re-enabling the 4g Module results in the same issue repeating.

Can Anyone offer help?

Firstly towards the 4G staying connected ( tested and SIM works fine in other 4g devices).

Secondly why my data connection via WiFi is unresponsive, ie. no ping.

I had a look at the journal and Iā€™m not getting any simple insights. I can attach this if required.

Just to add to this, plugging in a USB 4G dongle, the 4g works perfectly.

Sorry if this was already asked, but I couldnā€™t find anything related.
I tried to burn the micro SD with Bookworm and Kali using BalenaEtcher, but is not booting.
It worked with the uConsole raspbian main image.
Did I miss anything?

first boot takes awhile.
how long are you waiting for it to boot?
did you apply any custom settings when flashing the image?
did you flash the compressed or uncompressed image?
have you tried a different flashing utility? (Raspberry Pi Imager)

I waited a few minutes, maybe between 6-8 minutes.
Nothing happens, it just stays totally black. With the raspbian image it seems to blink at beginning once before the boot.
I did not apply any custom setting, I simply flash the uncompressed image using Balena.
I will try Raspberry Pi Imager now, thanks for the advice.

flash the compressed image with Raspberry Pi imager.

It worked perfectly with Kali, but I got an error with the Bookworm image: ā€œFile size bytes is not a multiple of 512 bytesā€. Ideas?

try and redownload the image

Hi Rex, Iā€™m using your new image with labwc and all is working great except that I disabled autologin to make it a little more secure and now the login screen is rotated. After login though, it corrects itself. I tried a search and there were some hits but they were fixes for other images that had KDE and SDDM. Itā€™s not a huge deal as I only need to enter my password and hit enter but would be nice to have it rotated the correct way. Any ideas?

you updated your install to labwc or did you flash the new image with labwc already setup?

this should fix it for you sudo sed -i '1 a wlr-randr --output DSI-1 --transform 270 &' "/usr/share/labwc/autostart"

I had flashed the new image you just released with labwc. This command worked! Thank you!

the lock screen rotation should have already been correct. iā€™ll have to go back and take a look. iā€™ve got a kernel 6.6.60 compiling right now, so i might throw up a new image tonight or tomorrow with a fix if something is wrong. thanks for letting me know.

Hey @Rex, after being silent for so long and after i crashed my os, i decided to give one of yours a go. Just wonna say im loving it all and all of my versions of a uconsole os tells them to get yours instead and has a link to it. Now to roam the forums again to see what ive missed.
