Error: SD Card not found

My picocalc arrived today and I have assembled it.

The included SD card is not recognized.

The SD card itself seems to be normal as it reads and writes fine on the PC.

When I issue the ‘files “b:”’ command on the included RPi Pico, I get “Error : SD Card not found”.

My Rpi Pico 2W also gives the same error.

I took it apart and looked with a tester for continuity between the SD card and the socket (SPI0_XX) that the board is stuck in, but there seems to be no continuity.

However, flux may be interfering with the continuity check.

From the outside it looks normal.

Is there anything else I can do?

Did you try a different card? I had some cards not recognized by the pico (cards that were totally fine on a pc)

My SD card (supplied with PicoCalc) always reports an error on my PC and suggests reformatting , works fine in both tho !.

If you enter ‘option list’ do you see OPTION SD CARD GP17, GP18, GP19, GP16 near the bottom ?.

If issues continue report it to alex@clockworkpi.com and he’ll ship a replacement main board out to you asap.

Thanks for the response. I tried the 8GB and 1GB SD cards I have and got the same error.

“option list” was run and the results were displayed as you said. I will email alex. Thanks.

Try larger cards. I had issues with smaller cards. 1gb never worked, 8gb sometimes 32gb always

I have since tried another 32GB,64GB (microSDXC with an adapter) and got the same error. Thanks.

Sorry for not being able to help.

Thanks for the advice.

I emailed Alex and he confirmed that the welding was not proper and that he would send me a replacement.
