Getting prepared, delivery day Monday!

Finally had confirmation my uConsole (black, lite) will be with me (hopefully) Monday.

Ordered various bits around the time I bought it - CM5 lite 8GB, external WiFi antenna, CM5 riser board, heatsinks for rear. Then pretty much forgot about it until I got the shipping confirmation this week.

Last couple of days bought a 128GB SD, flashed with Rex’s Trixie image, molicel 3500mAh batteries, screen protector & improved keyboard diffuser files (to be printed now clear tpu is here) and printed a bracket for the antenna and screen cover.

So I think I’m all set for it arriving, looking forward to getting it built.

Initially I’m planning to see what what sort of music stuff I can do with it, have a play with milkytracker. Would like to get BBC and Electron emulation working too. Then probably use it for administering my home network, general evening browsing/researching in place of phone and just generally exploring what it can do and thinking about what mods I might like to do to it. Lots of fun learning ahead I’m sure.

uConsole arrived yesterday, got it all assembled with CM5 lite on waveshare riser board & the improved keyboard overlay. First thing I did was flash the eeprom using these instructions and then booted Rex’s Trixie image.

Really great little device, I love it so far! Got clksignal & b2 emulators going, although I have a bit of work to do on keyboard mapping & trying to work out how to use the gamepad with them.

Also ordered an old blackberry off ebay to see if the trackball is any better in that.

Lots more fun with it to come I’m sure.

people say that connection may be unstable so if uconsole will glitch – try to remove riser.

It’s been fine so far, but I’ll bear it in mind. I did make sure I pressed it down along all points.

Runs nice and cool

About 42 degrees when idle and got it up to 54 compiling a C project using all 4 cores while also watching a youtube video full screen.
