Double check the u.fl connectors to see if one’s not snapped down all the way. The included antenna for the SDR doesn’t really pick up radio stations for me either I have a telescopic radio antenna that works well. The included antenna does work with tar1090 though, so if that’s working then it should just be getting a good antenna to pick up broadcast radio in SDR++.
Make sure you are on 2.4ghz in SDR++ and adjust the gain up.
GPS dont work on cm4 yet
works fine on my cm4
I just got the board yesterday, brand new fresh image that’s gone through three updates. The instructions say I can install SDR++ via udo apt sdrpp, why I try I get “invalid operation sdrpp” any idea why?
because the command is sudo apt install sdrpp
Thank you, this stuff is brutal for a novice.
Doesn’t work on mine either.
Do you have any bars like in the lower middle box in the image? If so it’s working you just don’t have a lock. If it shows a red message in the lower left then try one of the other /dev/tty/ from the side menu.
I’ll let you know. The current struggle is installing PyGPSClient.
Cant seem to get Meshtastic working. Have done multiple fresh installs and reboots. Web app and GUI open up and I can change settings, but getting “no signal”. Using REX’s bookworm 6.12.30 on CM4.
Do you have another node near by? You’ll only get a signal if your node has made a connection or heard another node. If no other Meshtastic node are nearby then you wont see any signal.
It didn’t install when you installed the hackergadgets package?
Rex. I am gonna come across as the dumbest guy in the world when I say “what hackergadgets package?” I’m working off this page: HackerGadgets uConsole RTL-SDR/LoRa/GPS/RTC/USB Hub All-In-One Extensi – Hacker Gadgets which was on the QR code on the bag.
This thread is about that package. It will install and configure most of the stuff, I made it for the CM5 because of some issues that will cause the system to not boot. Everything is still installed for the CM4 but some more config is needed till I get around to doing it myself and adding it to the package. You can install the package by doing sudo apt update && sudo apt --install-recommends install hackergadgets-uconsole-aio-board
Told you. Dumbest guy. Thank you. Still not sure about my GPS either.
if you installed the package and rebooted then pygpsclient should be in the accessories menu.
I have a rooftop node connected to the local mesh. Cant get any activity out of the uConsole.
I apricate all the work and help you are providing!
When was the last time your rooftop node was updated?I
Have you checked the u.fl connectors to make sure they were seated all the way. Have you tried using an 868 or 915 antenna? The kit comes with a 433 it will work just the range is not as good.
