Is it only me or is the popularity growing?

I saw that a bunch of uConsole videos showed up on Youtube. I’m wondering, is the popularity of it growing right now? What do you think this will mean for the order times, will it help the ClockworkPi team to make more batches faster or will it rather lead to more trouble getting the parts sourced fast enough? Will there be even more cool tinkering accessories? I’m rather curious what your thoughts are.

(And I know doing this guessing game from the outside isn’t very productive, but hey, it’s fun nevertheless!)

It might allow the price to come down since they’ll be able to order larger numbers of parts. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I purchased mine on the strength of a few YouTube videos.

About 5 or 6 months back, a video on the AIO expansion got many views. That got other creators interested, they ordered one, and are all receiving it now and making vids.

But yeah, i noticed too. Who is the Sasquatch in here?

I am one of those people. I work in IT, and I always have side projects going. Built a full-scale R2-D2, plenty of Raspberry Pi projects, and things like that, but I hadn’t heard about the uConsole. ClockworkPi wasn’t even on my radar. Saw one of those videos on YT and purchased the same day.

Definitely helped that @vileer was dropping his new boards. That was a significant factor in my decision. I’m sure the expansions will be here long before the uConsole, but that’s just the way it is sometimes.

@vileer 's boards seem like a total game changer, for sure. (Assuming they end up working, hah!) I wanted NVMe since I’ve had abysmal experiences with SD Cards when it comes to long term durability and bit rot, and with that expansion that caveat will assumably simply go away.

I would love to see the R2-D2. Any chance?

It took me around 2 years in total to build. About 20kg of PLA and another 10kg of ABS. It’s not my design; there’s a whole community behind it. Some people have SO many extra features like fully functional hologram projectors and all the gadgets that come out of the dome panels.

Mine only has the basic lights and sounds. No drive motors either. Maybe one day I’ll get back into it and add more features to mine.
