Is the uConsole keyboard membrane dishwasher safe?

I know the high temperatures and chemicals used in most dishwashers will kill cheap plastics, which is why I’m wary of trying it.

Speaking from experience, the aluminum chassis goes through fine. Make sure to remove all the electrical components and the thermal putty.

I wouldn’t risk that. The materials may probably resist without problems, but all the silkscreen prints are not so resistant.

What about leaving the keyboard in a hot water bath + dishwasher soap for 30 minutes and finally clean with a soft brush? A soft toothbrush would be perfect.

Maybe you can use the dishwasher to clean the aluminium shell, covering the silkscreen with some tape. I guess you want to use the dishwasher to clean inside small corners and similar, right?

It’s not so much thoroughness as it is convenience. It would be nice to be able to set-and-forget a load of dishes with the membrane on the top shelf.

I’ve been doing something like this (dish soap + rag) and it works well but takes just a little too long for my impatience. Perhaps I should take it easy and put on an episode of Columbo while working.

Be careful covering the silkscreen with tape. I did that on another piece of equipment and the tape took the silkscreen right off the surface.

How often do you need to clean this device?

deep cleaning and sterilization in autoclave every 4 hours would be sufficient :+1:
