Macropython fails to boot after PicoCalc keyboard 1.2 upgrade (PicoMite dine)

I did the keyboard upgrade for the PicoCalc (BIOS 1.2) using the procedures outlined in the GitHub wiki. When I tried to restart my PicoCalc with a self-compiled version of Zenodante’s Micropython repo/process, I could not get a display to work.
