It’s possible to use PINN but you’d need to get it to use the panel somehow. Does it use the kernel or is it something else like grub?
From what I read It uses kernel.
Then it should be as easy as recompiling it’s kernel with the drivers for the uConsole.
The latest test image of RetroPie is not working for me. I have a boot screen for 50 mins with rpc-statd-notify.service
Does it get stuck there every time? Did you apply any custom settings when flashing?
I have the same problem. No custom setting.
It will stuck in an reboot loop after resize the filesystem.
No custom settings. It can stuck on other “module” after resizing the filesystem
Now I get an illegal instruction at the end of the .profile.
emulationstation throw an illegal instruction.
CM3,4 or 5 and what was the error?
cm4 and the error is “illegal instruction” and the normal bash prompt.
looks like a problem with the command emulationstation --screenrotate …
emulationstation --debug --screenrotate 1 --screensize 1280 720 #auto

Did you try the cm4 RetroPie image?
That one is working perfectly.
I’ve just uploaded a 3rd test image for the CM5 it now has Mupen64Plus and the backlight and volume controls work even from a cold boot. Except on the CM5 alsamixer can’t find the audio from the RP1 chip. Audio works but you can’t control the volume.
Great job Rex, Test3 is running on the CM4.
Just the initial user / password question isn’t shown by default. There is only a blinking square on the screen. But when I press enter, the normal dialog appears.
Anyone managed to impliment an on screen battery status on this? Is that doable?
I cannot seem to get any input keys working in games.
Only buttons A & B seem to work.
Anyone managed to get the D-Pad working etc?
By default the inputs are setup for the uConsole/DevTerm with the stock keyboard firmware.
If you are using the QMK keyboard firmware then you need to delete the controller configs here.
/opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_input.cfg
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig/*
Then when RetroPie starts hit (Fn+G) to change to gamepad mode, the arrow keys will change into a D-pad.
You can also test your game keys work here.
