Have you tested to make sure the game buttons work?
The gamepad configs that are currently in the RetroPie image are for the stock keyboard firmwares.
If you delete those config files, then next boot RetroPie should ask to setup a controller. Then you have to set the controller up in the RetroArch menu for the emulators.
Thanks @Rex and sorry for the delayed response.
Been busy with work.
When I get a chance I will try your recommendations.
Hi Rex can this version work for cm5 and the RadXa boards?
No this is only for the device running a RPi CM. I can put a RetroPie image together for the Radxa CM5 if you want.
Please that would be perfect as i need to do a review once i get my uconsole sample.
I’ll make build one, but there is currently no internal audio with the Radxa. I haven’t have time to look at enabling it yet. So that will be an issue.
Apparently the Radxa runs so much betterthan CM5 on the Uconsole. better battery and even better than CM4. I think if you can fix Audio this would be a very popular option. There’s no need for a additional board to flash the emmc either. Higher TDP can be achieved i have been told its so good at emulation etc. I have one on the way so if you need any testing Rex i am here.
I’ll be looking into the audio soon, I’ll let you know.
Hey guys, thought you might wonna try retropie-extra for some more stuff to test. Used it before and was pretty cool, just make sure to write a path to the RetroPie-Setup directory when executing ./install-extra.sh like this>
./install-extra.sh /home/cpi/RetroPie-Setup
And i would pick install all, dont worry it just dumps the scripts and you can later install the through retropie setup when in the extras. Im gonna try out fallout 1 and 2 to see if itll work. Also theres a list of whats there if you scroll down the github page a little bit.
Here are the issues I’m having :
Commodore 64 emulation - the arrow keys on the uConsole keyboard do not work at all.
MS DOS. I’m stuck on the DOS prompt when exiting DOSBOX and have to do a power reset to get back to the Retropie Carousel.
The Port of Kodi is in is not horizontal orientation but vertical.
F5
at least that worked for me with dosbox-pure.I am also having this problem with the rpi CM5. i have tried redownloading the image and flashing to different SD cards.
Any ideas on what to try next?
I have seen that twice on my CM5 in testing but I’ll look into it some more see if I can find a fix.
Thank you for your time
My CM5 Lite hangs as well. I’ve tried lots of different sd cards to validate. When it will boot, it boots and hangs at expanding the FS. If you press B on the console or ESC then it will loop out of this and fail on partition detection. I also tried a 1tb and 512gb micro sd card, these only worked if I partitioned anything over ~380gb into another part, but then would fail on expanding FS unless you do some partition jugling to make sure the expansion goes to the end of the disk.
In the mega folder there is a new image 6.12.25 can you give that a try for me, it should fix your issue and the rpc-statd-notify.service
issue.
RetroPie wasn’t made for 64bit so sometime there are crashes. I’m seeing what I can do on my end to make it better.
Man what a journey getting this working. The only sd cards I had around (That were not in use) were a 512gb, 256gb, and a 128gb Samsung Pro Ultimate card, I can’t get any of these to boot from any image in any configurations. I also have 2x 256gb SanDisk Extreme (Also U30 A2, and I had to scavenge these from other projects) both work first boot every time… This image works great on the sandisk, playing Maniac Mansion now on it.
Finally got this sorted and all working great now.
It was the keyboard firmware I had that was causing all the issues. Flashed it back to stock, then flashed the latest QMK which took several attempts but it finally took it when I opened multiple terminal windows.
All working now and running games great.
