I had this bookmarked to test whenever I got around to it, but it might be what you’re looking for to monitor the battery.
Controllers don’t work for me
Edit: fixed via RetroPie_setup
I want to modify the mapping between the L and R keys. Pressing F1 to enter retroarch configuration in the game does not save the settings. Is there a default key mapping file? I want to modify the key mapping directly by modifying the mapping file.
I found the configuration file…
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
I downloaded and installed this and the uConsole got so far as to flash the RETROPIE logo then shuts down. Consistently. It boots fine with one of the uConsole images provided by ClockworkPi, but THAT image is giving me apt update issues. Le sigh. What can I do to troubleshoot this boot issue?
On first boot the OS will create SSH keys and then resize the file system and reboot. All of my images will do that.
Right, that’s normal behavior for RetroPie. This did that, then rebooted, flashed Retropie screen, shutdown. Rinse and repeat. No matter what I do it boots, shows the splash screen, then immediately shuts down.
Additional thought: I set this up using Raspberry Pi Imager, and I had it set up wifi and ssh etc. - might that be interfering with the first run script?
And - problem solved. It was, in fact, the preconfiguration done by Raspberry Pi Imager that messed it up. New image without that and it works as described.
Probably something to add to the notes or FAQ…sorry to waste your time!
That would be the problem. Any custom settings applied using raspi imager will bork the install. Not sure why, it even happens with the bookworm image even when the only thing that’s changed is the stock rpi kernel to my custom kernel.
Hi, i just installed the image (6.6.35) for the uconsole and can’t run any roms.
It’s me or in the core directory there are only .info files and no core dll ?
I thought the cores were included in the image ?
Thanks for your help .
The cores are included you just need to add roms to ~/RetroPie/roms
Very strange, i added zip files in roms/pc and nothing. Retropie doesn’t find them while parsing and retroarch still says ”no cores found”
look in the file /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
and make sure the emulator you want is installed and that the file type is supported. if not installed, install it from the retropie menu.
Finally i succeed it ! The DosBox Pure emulator was missing.
Thanks a lot Rex !
New issue : all emulators (not the libretto cores) show a wrong screen orientation (for example, ScummVM or Oricutron each installed from the source).
There is only one video mode in the video mode selection list : 720x1200 (native screen resolution i imagine…)
Is there any solution or have we to forget emulators in retropie and only use libretto cores (with retroarch scale parameters) ?
The libretto cores are the only ones supported. I’m not sure if all the others support screen rotation. some may and some might not.
Yeah, mame would be nice - there must be a way to get retropie working as I have it running on a CM4 based gameboy clone - not sure the compatibility of clockwork drivers and 32 bit build of retropie : GPi CASE 2 - Retroflag
Years ago when I first got my Devterm (with A06 instead of CM4) I built the most recent MAME release from source and it worked well. Took a very long time to build, but the end result was worth it. That was just under Debian (probably the official Clockwork OS at the time since it was early days). I’ve never really bothered much with Retropie and EmulationStation on any devices, but a native MAME build was a bit faster for the games that were frameskipping a little compared to Retroarch. I don’t remember the build process being particularly difficult, but it was very long (hours). And while it has the built in text menu navigation stuff in MAME, it’s not going to have all the fancy UI stuff, screenshots, etc.
Hi, I’m new with uconsole here. Please, help me if you can. I have CM5 good working with Bookworm. But there is no RetroPie for CM5. Or did I miss something? I tried CM4 version from Google Drive but it just doesn’t want to run at all. I used Raspberry PI Imager and the same SD card for both OS.
There will be a new RetroPie image for the CM3/4/5 within the next 24 hours.
Thanks for the good news! One more question. Is it possible to multiboot (using PINN for example)?
