Rex… Please help with Kali…

Yes, it is freezing with both distros. If i open a browser or even try anything on terminal it will freeze in few mins

Initially i thought it was freezing only when i tried to download, but its freezing anyways in just 5-10 mins of login.

I just tried with Ubuntu debian and its working smoothly without any freeze till the battery died, it means only issue with Kali and ParrotOS.

I haven’t seen that issue. Could you maybe run a stress test with Ubuntu and see if it will freeze.

Hi @Rex

After debugging, the issue turned out not to be Kali or uConsole, but my old USB Wi-Fi adapter + driver combination.
The adapter used was TP-Link TL-WN823N v2/v3 (Realtek RTL8192EU), which is known to be unstable on ARM.

Confirmation:

  • Booting without the USB adapter → system runs indefinitely

  • Plugging it in → freeze within minutes

  • Issue reproducible even without monitor mode

Thanks for all your suggestions

Did you use AI to write this? Your prose is unusually stilted and emboldened. Whether monitor mode is enabled is irrelevant to your issue. Mentioning you were using additional networking peripherals when discussing a problem with networking would have been pertinent.
