Crazy update:
Originally scheduled for today (Aug. 22). Then rescheduled for tomorrow due to weather??? No bad weather. Then rescheduled for Monday. Now rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon because of Saturday delivery request by someone.
I guess it will get here sometime between tomorrow and Monday. Just so crazy!!!

I ordered on June 1 and have waited long enough. It’s been so long I don’t even want the thing anymore and have requested a refund. Really pathetic way to run a “business”, if it even deserves that label.
On the other hand, I feel like I dodged a bullet. So many red-flags: his lack of support, the cracked screens, the underhanded way he used the work of other people without attribution, the keyboard firmware, the list seems to go on and on. I can find a lot of more valuable uses for that $100.

To follow up, I received an email from Alex claiming that “Your order is packed and ready for shipping.” This is obviously a lie since I know there are many people who ordered FAR earlier than me who are still waiting.
This guy is just dishonest. The lies on the website about shipping times, the lies in email responses, the dishonest way he simply appropriated MMBASIC. I’m glad to not be supporting him in any way.
That’s just a standard reply they send to everyone who asks. It’s a 3-4 month wait. Scroll up through the forum to see other’s experiences. It is worth the wait
It just happens that it seems that a lot of people ordered PicoCalcs in the second half of April, which has increased the time it takes to get one. I ordered mine on April 20th and got mine in mid-late June, so it seems I just beat the rush.
Regardless, the PicoCalc is a great device. You just have to be careful with the screen, that’s all. And when I scratched the external glass on my screen I ordered new glass and they sent it to me for just the cost of the shipping, and it took far less time than the PicoCalc itself took. Even with all the broken screens, one can always order new ones for relatively little, and they similarly are much quicker to arrive than the whole PicoCalcs.
About MMBASIC, that was an honest mistake, likely due to that the license for MMBASIC is rather different from other FLOSS licenses, for better or for worse. Once it was realized, they went and resolved the issue.
that’s about a month after the release, so when the first people got their hands on one and videos started showing up with the actual device, makes sense that would generate a second rush of orders
