Picocalc order and shipping

What’s up with the Clockworkpi support? I ordered a PicoCalc Sep.25 2025 and except the order confirmation, I got no answer to my emails. I asked twice for updates…. no answer. Do support requests also have a month long backlog? I only want to be sure my order is in process and not lost.

If you have received an order confirmation, you should assume that your order has not been lost. The more often people ask about the status of their orders, the less time staff have to process orders.

If you haven’t emailed alex@clockworkpi.com then I’d recommend trying that. I’m not sure how often Clockwork checks and and answers emails to other addresses, but Alex tends to respond pretty quickly (usually within 24hr). He should also be able to confirm your order and give you some idea of its shipping status.

Based on posts on the forum and my own experience, I don’t think anyone has ever received other email from Clockwork except for the confirmation after order, and the shipment email (which might arrive after you get a shipment email from the carrier, like DHL or whoever). But Alex seems to always respond if contacted.

I ordered mine on September 24th and have been anxiously waiting for my Picocalc. When I asked about shipping Alex sent me the following message:

“Shipping time of PicoCalc is 30-business-day as on the product page.Your order is waiting for production.”

I’ve tried to be patient, but it’s kind of hard when I read of all the fun you guys are having with your machines, and I’d love to join in. I’m a retired computer programmer of 35 years and I love programming.

I wait for 3 months totally,
when you tried buying other clockworkpi products you will find delaying is normal (some uconsole user waited for 9 months)
Just relax.

One thing also to remember is that “business days” does not include holidays in China, and there are a lot of holidays there.

I’ve ordered 2, and on average they took around 2½ calendar months to arrive. Not included holidays, you’re currently at 51 business days, which for ClockworkPi, is unusual, so I would worry… they’re just kind of a slow.

it’s worth noting the current consensus is clockworkpi holds no stock for their products. “buy now” means “join production batch waitlist” and “out of stock” means “no longer in production”. delivery times vary so much because you have to wait until enough people have joined your batch preorder until that batch gets actually made on demand

Maybe they should just sell PCB’s and components and just let us build our own.

Geduldig bleiben, ich habe etwas über zwei Monate gewartet, dann war mein zweiter Picocalc da..

Hello all, this is my first post in the forum and thought this would be a good place to start. I ordered my Picocalc on Sep 8 (42604) and received it in the mail today. I installed a 2W and flashed Picoware from JBlanked. I’m looking forward to working on some projects with it.

Welcome to the forum !

I ordered one on October 24th. After a month I became concerned and asked support for a shipment date.

Alex responded quickly and told me mine was waiting for production and the ship time as per the product page was 60 days.

I went over the product page carefully and found no ship times.

I’m patient and will continue to wait for a shipment notification.

I was surprised to see it wasn’t “60 business days”. Maybe that was only specified for the uConsole, but it’s probably safe to assume the same with PicoCalc.

I’m going to wait till the end of the period when I can contest the charge on my credit card. If I haven’t been notified I will contest the charge.

Just be patient, your PicoCalc will arrive.

You will get your PicoCalc, it will just take time to arrive. If you really don’t want your PicoCalc just contact alex@clockworkpi.com and you will get a refund.

I want the Picocalc, it’s just the only other time that I’ve had to wait so long for a product turned out to be a scam. If it’s such a popular product I don’t understand why they can’t sub it out to those places in China that build pcbs with components installed for super cheap.

The PicoCalc is not a scam. It is just that when you buy a PicoCalc you are not buying a ready-made unit in a warehouse but rather a place in line. Also, PicoCalcs are manufactured and shipped in batches, both of which are subject to the many holidays in China, so they are not sent out at a consistent pace. Anyone who expects their PicoCalc to simply arrive in a set number of days does not understand what they are really ordering.

If you really want your money back instead of waiting just email Alex ─ he’ll refund you promptly if you ask. Also, if there are any defective parts, or if you just happen to break part of your PicoCalc (as many have done with their displays), just email Alex and he will send you a replacement quickly at minimal cost. (E.g. I got some sand or something on the glass of my PicoCalc, which scratched it in a very distracting manner, and I contacted Alex and he sent me new glass for just the cost of the shipping.) Some have even preemptively bought extra replacement parts from Alex for minimal cost. If the PicoCalc were a scam, none of this would be the case.

I did not say it was a scam, I said I had been scammed with a long wait for a product which never showed or was not as advertised. I’m sure Alex is a good guy and takes care of his customers well, however I just feel that the wait time is exceptionally long for a product which is not all that complex. It’s also been stated that they wait until they get enough orders to run a batch, which is most likely the cause for the extended wait time. With a product that seems to be very popular I would probably stay one batch ahead of the orders.
