Arrow keys are inaccurate - wrong input if pressed too hard

Hello
The arrow keys on my picocalc are inaccurate. Specifically if I press slightly hard two directions will be depressed. In particular the up arrow.

Has anybody run into this and found a resolution? I think a small amount of rigidity needs to be added. Somewhere…

Since I had a little program that shows me the ASCII key codes, I ran a little test.

I can get this to happen. But it seems like the problem is not how hard I press, but where on the key I pressed. If I press too much into the “center” of the arrow key area, I can get into a situation where I’m pressing two (or more) arrow keys. This probably has more to do with how the keyboard is designed than anything else.

But if I press, say, hard in the center, or near the “bottom” of each arrow key, it acts correctly doing only that key.

I just tried it out. Left arrow gets activated too if I press very hard on the left side of the Up arrow. All the other arrow keys are fine…

I had always noticed it was very easy to accidentally press two/three arrow keys at the same time, so I fixed it just now.

I was worried these would be too thick, but it ended up somewhere between “perfect!” and “could be just a teeny bit thicker…”

Lifetime guaranteed fix applied. Be careful with adhesive things near the buttons, as the tape with the pop-cap can be ripped off…
