My A06 uConsole suddenly decided it would stop powering on. Opened up up and everything seemed normal visually. Measured 3.71v on each battery, plugged in USB-C, and attempted to boot. No green led, but usb-c cable was getting warm and could feel heat through the A06 board. Unplugged, pulled A06 board and replugged in usb-c → AXP228 chip was getting extremely hot, aka can’t leave finger on it. Immediately unplugged power.
Nothing happens when press power switch on batteries only.
I used it now about 2 years now and it suddenly after I shut it down to change SD it isn’t powering on anymore i deassembled it and saw holes in the AXP228 (look foto)it also get fast extremely hot like yours
You need to find out what caused the problem. It could be that your batteries are faulty, or the charger you’re using. Of course, it might also be the chip itself or another component on the motherboard. You’d need to test and analyse it.
Codiator’s reply is a good first step, check batteries for signs of damage from overvolting. A faulty charger is a rarer issue but can happen. More likely. the chip just wore out as an effect of time and something internally shorted. If you use a rework station you can try replacing it and seeing what else got fried by the runaway voltages, or you can purchase a replacement mainboard.
