Battery and CM5 uConsole

I bought 2 new batteries Panasonic NCR18650B protected cells recommanded here for a 4 h00 usage time . I put them 1/4 hours and I lost 30 % without any usage of clockpi . Is there a meaning to reduce this ?

I don’t have a uConsole yet, but from what I’ve read so far, 4 hours is a reasonable estimate for working with a CM4. However, the CM5’s power consumption is significantly higher than that of a CM4.

Would you know (or know where to find) any metrics on the power usage and whatnot of the CM5? I have a CM5 build on the way powered by 2x Samsung 30Q. If battery issue really will be that much of a problem with the CM5, should I be looking into things like under clocking?

When I looked up Google for “power consumption raspberry pi 5 vs 4” Gemini answered as follows:

“The Raspberry Pi 5 consumes more power than the Raspberry Pi 4, especially under load, requiring a higher 5V/5A power supply compared to the Pi 4’s 5V/3A. For example, at idle, the Pi 5 draws around 2.75W–500mA, while the Pi 4 uses about 1.84W–275mA. Under load, the Pi 5 can draw about 2.15A–10.75W, whereas the Pi 4 draws around 1.3A–6.5W.”.

If the numbers are correct, the V5 needs almost double the energy of the V4. Instead of underclocking a CM5, I would choose a CM4 right away. Personally, I will go for a CM4 with 8GB RAM. For mobile use, I don’t need a top-speed CPU, but rather a durable tool with the longest possible runtime.
