Hi everyone,
I’m new here and apologies if my issue is answered already. I was wondering if someone can help me with more detailed info about battery requirements for uConsole Kit RPI-CM4 Lite. I purchased recently [Nitecore 18650 Li-Ion Akku, NL1840HP, 4000mAh] and it seams like that these are slightly bigger than regular 18650. Does anyone knows if these fit in uConsole? I’m still waiting for mine to arrive. I would appreciate the help. Please find picture bellow for reference.
Greetings
Nik
an 18650 cell is 65.0mm x 18mm in size.
This Nitecore (NL1840HP) is according to its website: 69.8mm±0.3mm x 18.6mm±0.3mm
The battery clip is designed for Φ18±0.5mm diameter, 65-69mm length.
People report other models that are extremely tight as being 18.5mm x 69.5mm
You could certainly try. But you’re at or beyond the upper limit of what is known to fit. I didn’t see that model in the forums. But other Nitecore models like NL1832 and NL1834 have slightly different dimensions, one of which would fit and another which probably won’t fit.
Good luck. If you have the receipt, I would return that cell and order something smaller and lower mAh. It’s not that critical to get the biggest capacity you can.

Thank you for your advice, luckily I do have an option to return them. I’ll follow your advice and get something more suitable and in dimensions range. Wish you all the best and again thanks for helping.
These batteries work, I am using them on my uconsole. But for some reason when using them, the discharging indicator on the bookworm image is always 100%
I‘m still waiting for my Uconsole and decided to send the batteries back and go for more suitable ones.
I had the same issue then I reflashed the SD and it started working as it should
Hello, I recently ordered two NL1840HP batteries and would like to know how they are being used. Thank you.
really curious as well, If its just a snug fit, I will take it any day rather than do some modifications.
4000mAh is the absolute largest legit 18650 capacity, anything over 3500 is suspicious, I doubt those are 9900mAh
Probably right but time will tell still got time for return if so
if i may add… one should also note the discharge rate of the battery. citing an extreme… i’m do not think a 3500mAh battery at 1C would work. So a battery that supports 10C or a 15C discharge rate would be preferred. i read that Pi 4 can draw up to 3A(?) on boot or at load. if one is to add all other peripherals connected, it could be more. IMHO, that can explain why some batteries don’t seem to work too well.
