It’s a lite CM5? Did you do the eeprom edit already? Make sure the cm5 is fully seated in the adapter board and the adapter board in the main board. It can move if not secured down by the back and puddy.
Make sure you’re using mains power to rule out batteries.

I’m having the same issue as @Mohesh_Mohan and @backer954 with a 16gb CM5 lite. First time it booted, I saw a screen for a second or two, then screen went black and I haven’t been able to get it back. I did not do the EEPROM edit though. Do I need a carrier board to do that, or is there some other way to apply the changes? Just trying to see if I can avoid having to order one and wait.

Yes a lite, haven’t been able to edit EEPROM as haven’t got it to boot. Double and triple checked all the seating. Back is off while I am trying to get it working - using mains power, no batteries. Brand new 32gb sandisk ultra. I get a green light but nothing else when I press the power…

Thinking carrier board is the way to go to update the firmware & EEPROM?

the sd card linked here is known to work without the eeprom edit. it’s the one i used and others have had success too with it.
you can also flash a updated bootloader for the cm5 using rpi imager and try and update the bootloader and eeprom that might help it work better for the first boot. you might have the same problem getting the bootloader updated though if it can’t read your sd card.
the one linked though should get you booted.

Thanks - frustratingly that card only available imported from the US here in UK

can you try searching other electronic suppliers in your area for it?

That’s what I mean, I have. Only Amazon and a couple of other places have them on import - its cheaper for me to get a carrier board to change the EEPROM…, unless there are any other particular magic sd cards?!

Tried an old 16gb sandisk ultra card a had knocking around…no dice.

a cheap io board is a good thing to have. if you can get one easy i’d do that instead of import the sd.

go back through the device and double check everything is seated correctly.

if everything is assembled correctly then even without a sd card you will see a bootloader message over hdmi.
do you have a io board to test that the cm is working?
are you sure the hdmi cable is good?

i fully understand not wanting to buy additional stuff but with no output from hdmi the problem could a few things. bad cm5, bad main board, not assembled correctly.

did you use the teamgroup sd the first time? when it booted, resized the file system then rebooted and didn’t come back up did you pull the batteries or just pull the sd with the power light still on?

the cm5 is not supported by clockwork, and is entirely experimental which comes with jumping through some hoops. plus different bootloader version behave differently in it and you can’t tell what version you have before you boot it.

The forum is also how you get the custom images to be able to run the CM5. The CM5s has been running in the uConsole for 9 months and while.ost issues have been fix the others are well documented.

I have been having to pull the batteries every time the Uconsole reboots. I would assume this is not normal. Is there something I should be looking for to make it reboot?

What CM do you have?

Cm5 16ram lite wifi.

Did you do the eeprom edit outlined here?
