Clockwork uconsole cm5 horizontal lines on screen

I just assembled my uConsole with a CM5 and used the Rex image, but now I have the problem that although it boots normally, the screen isn’t working properly. Everything is displayed as horizontal lines; when I move the mouse up and down, one line moves along with it. It’s not the connector, because I’ve unplugged and plugged it back in several times.

new uConsole?
looks like a lcd screen driver problem

Try verifying with http://dl.clockworkpi.com/uConsole_CM4_v3.0_64bit.img.bz2

and yes,you need config the /boot/config.txt as Rex’s image does

dtparam=pciex1_gen=3

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. When I do that, the screen lights up, but it doesn’t display anything.

sorry , after I looked up, I think I need to upgrade this os image ,I totally left cm5 kernel support

When done a link to the new image would be appreciated @guu :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

uConsole_CM4_v3.0_64bit_cm5_test1.img.7z

@Timo1 just made a test version ,but since I don’t have a cm5 in my hand,
I just built it following the documentation. It hasn’t been tested—or rather, testing isn’t possible.

But since the kernel is just as same as Rex’s, so I think there is a big shot it can work

just add kernel_2712.img to /boot/firmware

The screen manufacturer for the latest batch of UC units has made small changes. I’ve already submitted the patch to Rex, but he seems a little busy lately. Once Rex updates the kernel, this issue should be resolved.

@Timo1 sorry again, link access fixed now

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. I received my Uconsole today. I installed Rex’s bookwork image on a CM5 and have the same artifacts/lines. When I move the stick, the lines move with it.

@guu I loaded the test image, but nothing is visible on the display. Something lights up randomly, but that’s it.

Thanks for the feed back
I will dig into it

btw,what 's your type of CM5? I mean memory size,has emmc or not

I also had a black screen.

I have a CM5 Lite with 8GB RAM and Wi-Fi.

@Timo1 @AndOhm

Thansk a lot for the feedback

if you have time, could you also try to boot uConsole + cm5 with HDMI port ?

HDMI will show more information

And sorry for any inconvenience

I don’t have a suitable cable for it.

thank you for your help! i have a the cm5 lite. i tried diffrent os’s but it comes up with the same issue. also tried to reconnect the display and compute module.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a suitable HDMI cable. I’ll get one tomorrow, test it, and give you feedback.

@Timo1 @AndOhm

Ok, thanks

I ordered a new CM5 Lite 8G ram today, will take about 2 or 3 days to be arrived at my place.

When I got my CM5 , I will then upgrade this os image

Hello guu, I installed the image you provided. My uconsole is also brand new. I have a CM5 with wifi without eeprom. I was able to complete the installation on my monitor connected via HDMI. The keyboard works perfectly, the speakers crackle when switched on, but unfortunately the display remains black.

Hi @Stormy , great feed back, thanks

just wait a bit for me to get my own cm5 ,so that I can test and upgrade this os image

:slight_smile:
