Yes, it is obvious. Have you ever tried to work with customs? You should prepare a ton of paper before you get something trough the border. And I promise you, you definitely do not want to do it yourself.
Well, I was quoted a shipping fee of 40 Euro. And the details were that it would be shipped via Poland and UPS. Not the case in the end. I donāt really want to pound on the issue, but itās notable that clockwork didnāt do the homework and or had to change plans in a way that pretty radically changes the price. I donāt really mind. I just wonāt ever buy a product from clockwork again. Iāve done my bit.

I canāt speak to the uConsole because Iāve not received mine but I faced no additional cost on the DevTerm when I received it. (destination USA) It appears that the clockwork fee had sufficient shipping and handling to cover the expense - not dissing Fedex for charging a handling feeā¦ Iāve done international shipping from the USA to Asia so a handling fee is not unreasonable - just like most not fond of taxes.
Parcel forwarding update: Iāve received an email today from them, that theyāve received my package! Theyāve sent a photo of the shipping label. Now I need to process it further to be shipped to EU. Iāll update on the final costs once Iāll receive my uConsole.

Can you please share which model did you purchase (what was the actual cost)? So what % of the total was the tax? I will order the $119.- CM4 version without the CM4 chip and trying to estimate what the tax / processing cost may be on top of the $199+shipping. Thank you! (I am in France)
I got the A06 WiFi only, cost was $209 +40 shipping, totalling $249. With taxes included it was another ā¬58.48, so about 287 EUR total.

Anyway, I do want to take the option of forwarding from China as well, because delivery should be more guaranteed and cheaper for me. I have a forwarding address in China already, by the way. May I know how you filled in the shipping details?

Good timing, my package was just released from customs. I should have it in my possession in 1-2 days.
I want to be sure it has arrived safe and sound before I can stamp this as a recommended way. But so far I was able to save ~50$ apposed to ordering from clockwork directly. My final costs are 277$ (257EUR).
I ordered an extra service from tiptrans (included in my final price) to repack my package for safer traveling which added +9$. Not sure if it was absolutely necessary, but thought itās better be safe.
Just to note that I ordered uConsole + CM4, which is 189$ and my additional fees were:
4$ China domestic shipping
39$ repacking and forwarding via China Post
45$ VAT tax
I see. So, you just put down the address as indicated by Tiptrans? Was it in Chinese? in my case I may have to adjust as needed since I have to put in special requests prior to shipping.
Yes, as soon as you register with tiptrans thereās a Chinese address listed (in Chinese yes) with your personal P.O. box assigned which you can enter on checkout.
