Could I have IRC on the Gameshell without needing a wireless keyboard?

I think it would be really cool, because I could basically have a pocket sized irc client.

I think my post is also connected to yours:

I started to play around with a tool as in most old game consoles to input text with the gamepad. It would be cool to use it always at text input.
Would you like to code anything like that with me?

I would love to, but I don’t think I have the experience, and I wouldn’t really know where to start.
