Damaged Ribbon Cable for display

I just got mine and assembled it and yeah I guess mine is from the bad batch too.

Got me too

Yeah I got mine in the mail today with a similar issue fresh out of the box

Is it not possible to find a 640x480 IPS screen for this device would that work?

Just wanted to remind everyone that has an issue like this to send an email with the details (including a picture, your order number, address, etc.) to alex@clockworkpi.com and he’ll respond and make good on it. I heard back from him in under 24hrs about my display, and they’re sending a replacement. It also sounded like Clockwork were aware it’s a common problem and were working on a solution.

Same.

Turnaround was about 4 to 5 days.

Great service :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::+1:t2:

Yep, I got my replacement display in 4 days, and now it works great. Making sure the screen is super aligned before you start screwing things in is super important.

Do you have received a feedback from Clockwork after sending the Money by paypal?

I think I forgot to mention I got my new screen and have been careful with it. I actually did a pico swap and took the motherboard out to do the swap. Things going well in that department.

Maybe apply tape round the edge of the display to stop it popping out in the future !

except the first time

This is the way. What seems to happen is that once you connect the screen ribbon cable to the pcb, it starts to move around whenever the pcb shifts. It it gets lifted, it will sit on those little plastic clips that keep the screen in. That means when you screw down the back, it cracks on the bottom and affects the text as shown.

I has exactly same after my first bootup.
Is I need to ask for LCD replacement ?

Yes email alex@clockworkpi.com

same issue, while replacing the pico moudule with pico2. Although clockworkpi send me a new screen, I think they should imporve the hardware design

They either already have or are just about to release a redesigned screen mounting bracket in the case. The redesign will appear in new shipments if and when it’s ready.

90 days waiting… mounted… and… SAME SCREEN ISSUE… :-1:
Contacted with Alex… and waiting for reply…
